Join us for one of our 3 day 2 night guided canoe trips on Lake Umbagog. View a slideshow of photos from previous year's trips.

Your trip will start at our shop, Contoocook River Canoe Co., LLC, where you and your gear will be transported in our 15 passenger van and trailer to the Lake Umbagog National Wildlife Refuge located on the Magalloway River in Errol NH.

Upon our arrival we will be greeted by a National Park Ranger at the Wildlife Refuge Center where we will be presented with an overview of Lake Umbagog and the wildlife that you may see on your trip.

After the presentation we will have lunch, unload the trailer and pack our canoes. Once packed we will embark on a 7 mile paddle down the Magalloway River to our camp site on Lake Umbagog. Upon our arrival at the site we will set up camp. Once camp is set you will have the opportunity to enjoy paddling, exploring, swimming, fishing or just relaxing by the camp fire while our guides start dinner. During and after dinner you can enjoy sitting around the camp fire socializing, or the time is yours to do as you please.

Saturday morning will begin with a great breakfast cooked and served by our guides. After we have eaten and cleaned up, we will paddle on the lake, stopping for breaks and lunch.

Wildlife is abundant on and around Lake Umbagog with eagles nesting, moose and deer traveling the shore line and many other animals scurrying or flying around. Lake Umbagog is home to a number of eagles that nest on some of the small islands and shore line. Don’t forget to bring your camera.

If reeling in the big one is your goal, Lake Umbagog and the 2 rivers we paddle down are known for great fishing. So feel free to bring your pole, tackle and bait, but make sure you have a NH fishing license.

When we return from our paddle the guides will put together an outstanding evening meal. A camp fire will be built and burn until conversation and laughs end the evening.

Sunday morning you will awake early to another fine breakfast, then as a group we’ll pack up, load our canoes and paddle down the Androscoggin River to the take out. At the take out the group will load the gear onto the trailer and head back to the shop.

Our Lake Umbagog Trips are 3 days of paddling with 2 nights of camping.
Contoocook River Canoe Co. LLC supplies the following:

• Canoes - Paddles - Life jackets - Tents
• Sleeping pad to put under your sleeping bag
• Dry bags for your clothes and sleeping bag
• Plates, Cups and utensils
• All food for lunch and dinner on Friday, breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday and breakfast and lunch on Sunday and snacks throughout the 3 days.

All you need to bring is a sleeping bag, clothes and your personal items.

Lake Umbagog Trips for 2012 are booking fast:

Maximum number of paddlers per trip is 10 and the minimum is 6. Each trip will have two guides. The cost per paddler is $245.00 which includes meals, camping and paddling gear. All you need to bring is your sleeping bag, clothes and personal gear. What a way to spend a vacation!
